Chandigarh. Naib Singh Saini has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time in seven months. On Thursday, October 17, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Saini at the Dussehra Ground in Panchkula. Many Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of many states including Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present on this occasion. Along with Saini, 13 ministers were also sworn in. BJP has tried to create geographical and social balance of the entire state through the faces of ministers.
Nonetheless, Saini became the 19th Chief Minister of Haryana. However, he is the 11th leader to reach the post of Chief Minister. The big ceremony of his swearing in took place at Dussehra Ground in Panchkula. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Apart from him, BJP President JP Nadda along with senior Union Ministers like Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari attended the oath ceremony. Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 18 states had also arrived to participate in Saini’s swearing-in ceremony. It is noteworthy that Nadda was elected the leader of the legislature party in the presence of Amit Shah a day earlier on Wednesday.
13 ministers took oath along with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, out of which maximum five faces are from Other Backward Castes. Two ministers each have been made from Jat, Brahmin and Scheduled Caste categories. Apart from this, one minister each from Punjabi, Rajput and Vaishya community has been made. Shruti Choudhary, daughter of Kiran Choudhary, who left Congress and joined BJP a few days before the elections, has also got a ministerial post, while Aarti Rao, daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, who contested the elections for the first time, has also been made a minister.
Senior leader Anil Vij is also included among the newly appointed ministers in Haryana, who had repeatedly declared himself a contender for the post of Chief Minister. Apart from him, Krishnalal Panwar, Rao Narbir, Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal and Krishna Bedi have become ministers. All these people have been ministers before also. Apart from these, Ranbir Gangwa, who was the deputy speaker in the previous BJP government, has been made minister. Among the new faces, Arvind Sharma, Shyam Singh Rana, Aarti Rao, Shruti Chaudhary and Gaurav Gautam have become ministers for the first time. BJP did not adopt the formula of making Deputy Chief Minister in Haryana like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. However, after the formation of the new government, Chief Minister Saini has called the first cabinet meeting on the morning of Friday, October 18. The distribution of portfolios of ministers will take place on Friday only.
