Why is the atmosphere of terror returning in the country despite all the claims of agility and strictness on the security front? Why are intelligence agencies not able to gather prior information about groups making false threats or preparing attacks?
Within a few days of the elected government assuming office, terrorists have wreaked havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. Seven people were killed in their attack on Sunday near Sonamarg on the Srinagar-Leh highway. Most of these are workers from other states, who were engaged in construction work there. Two things are special. This is the first attack in recent years on a site related to ongoing construction work in the Kashmir Valley. Then this happened in an area which was believed to be free from the shadow of terrorism for the last decade. It is reported that the latest attack was carried out by Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
On the same day as this attack took place, a bomb blast took place outside CRPF Public School in Rohini area of New Delhi, due to which the boundary wall of the school campus was damaged. Banned terrorist organization Khalistan Zindabad Force has taken responsibility for this attack. On the other hand, on Sunday itself, 25 flights received bomb threats, due to which they had to make emergency landings. Earlier on Saturday, more than 30 flights had received such threats. All these turned out to be fake, but due to them air travel was disrupted on both the days and passengers had to face problems. In fact, if we go back a little, there have been bomb threats in schools and hospitals in the National Capital Region for quite some time.
Till now these threats were proving to be fake, but on Sunday it finally exploded for real. Such incidents have returned an atmosphere of terror in the country. This has raised the question that despite all the claims of agility and strictness on the security front, why is this atmosphere returning in the country? Why are intelligence agencies not able to gather prior information about groups making false threats or preparing attacks? The issue of Jammu and Kashmir is more serious. Jammu region has emerged as a new destination for terrorist attacks, while now such incidents have again raised their heads in Kashmir valley also. Why after all?
