Mumbai Sharad Pawar, Maharashtra’s biggest leader and three-time Chief Minister of the state, has made a big move amid the assembly elections. He has indicated his retirement from electoral politics. NCP founder Sharad Pawar, 84, has said that he will not contest elections now. However, he has also said that he will continue to look after the work of the party organization. This means that he will remain the head of his party.
Sharad Pawar said in Baramati on Tuesday – We will have to stop somewhere. I don’t want to contest elections now. Now new people should come forward. I have contested elections 14 times so far. Now I don’t want power. I want to work for the society. I will consider whether to go to Rajya Sabha or not. It is noteworthy that his rebel nephew Ajit Pawar had said some time ago without taking his name that how long will he continue doing politics.
However, Sharad Pawar started his political career from Congress in 1960. At the age of just 27, Sharad Pawar became MLA from Baramati assembly constituency in 1967. Sharad Pawar has won 14 elections in the last five decades. He has been Chief Minister three times. He has also been a Union Minister many times.
