Story of Sharad Purnima
According to the story, a long time ago there used to be a moneylender in a city. He had two daughters. Both the daughters used to fast on the full moon day as per the rituals. But the moneylender’s younger daughter used to leave the fast incomplete. While talking about the elder daughter, she always observed this fast with full dedication and devotion. When both of them grew up, their father got them married.
Even after marriage, the elder daughter used to fast with full faith. The effect of this fast was such that he got benefits from it. She was blessed with a very beautiful and healthy child. The younger daughter faced difficulties in having a child. She became very upset and the moneylender also started getting worried about this. After this the moneylender called the Brahmins and told them about his daughter’s problem.

The pundits found out the seriousness of the matter and told the moneylender that your younger daughter did not follow the rules of Purnima fast with all her heart, that is why this is happening to her. The Brahmins told him the method of this fast, after which he observed the fast again with full rituals. This time the younger daughter’s faith paid off and she had a child.
