Shopkeeper's name is mandatory on Dhaba, Restaurant

Lucknow. The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big decision. Now all the food shops in the state will have to put a nameplate with the name of the shopkeeper. That is, it will be mandatory to write the name of the shopkeeper. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave this order in the Food Department meeting on Tuesday, 24 September. It is worth noting that during the Kanwar Yatra, such orders were given for the shops coming in the way of Kanwariyas but then the Supreme Court had banned it. This matter is still pending in the court but in the meantime the state government has decided to implement it in the entire state.

Not only this, the Chief Minister has said that all the hotels, dhabas, restaurants in the state should be thoroughly investigated and police verification of every employee should be done. Necessary changes should be made in the Food Safety Act for the purity of food items. According to the new order, it will be mandatory to write the name and address of the operator, owner, manager on food and water shops. Apart from this, CCTV cameras will have to be installed in the entire restaurant. Also, employees will have to wear masks and gloves compulsorily. It is worth noting that in the last few days, many videos of adulteration or contamination of food and drinks have surfaced. The Chief Minister mentioned this at many places. For this reason, the state government has decided to make a new rule.

While talking about this decision, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said- There have been incidents of mixing urine and spit in food items. These are disgusting. This will not be accepted at all. Concrete arrangements should be made to prevent such incidents in Uttar Pradesh. He said- It is necessary to inspect dhabas and restaurants. Verification of employees should be done by running a campaign in the state. The team of food security, police and administration should do this soon.

The Chief Minister said that there should be CCTV cameras in restaurants and hotels. It has been said that the entire restaurant along with the seating area of the customers should be covered with cameras. Also, every hotel operator will have to keep the CCTV camera feed safe and make it available when needed. The government has said that the rules related to making and selling food items will be made more strict. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had ordered to put nameplates on shops across the state on July 19 this year. Kanwar Yatra was going on at that time. The government argued that this decision has been taken to maintain the purity of Kanwariyas.
