SIT stops investigation of Tirupati laddus

Hyderabad. After the hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday and the observations of the court, the SIT investigation into the case of animal fat in Laddu Prasadam of Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh has been put on hold. State Director General of Police, Dejiri Tirumala Rao has given this information. DGP Rao said that the case is currently being heard in the Supreme Court. The next hearing will be on October 3, so no SIT investigation will be conducted till then. After the hearing, as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, it will be decided whether to proceed with the SIT investigation or not.

The Director General of Police said that in the last two days, the SIT investigated the procurement and sampling process of laddus and tried to understand how the laddus could be adulterated. Rao said that the SIT first wanted to understand this process and collect all the information related to it, but in the meantime the order of the Supreme Court came. In fact, during the hearing on Monday, the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanath said – We want a suggestion from Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for whether the case should be investigated by the SIT itself or by an independent investigating agency. All petitions will be heard together on October 3 at 3:30 pm.
