Lucknow. Samajwadi Party (SP) has announced candidates for six seats for the by-elections to be held in UP. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has fielded Tej Pratap from Karhal seat. He has been MLA from this seat in 2022. This seat has become vacant after his election as MP. In its list released on Wednesday, SP has nominated Naseem Solanki from Sisamau assembly seat, Mustafa Siddiqui from Phulpur, Ajit Prasad from Milkipur, Shobhawati Verma from Katehari and Dr. Jyoti Bind from Manjhwa assembly seat. Of the six seats on which Samajwadi Party has announced candidates, there are two seats where BJP had won in the 2022 assembly. These two seats are of Phulpur and Majhwan. Congress was presenting its claim on both these seats as part of the alliance, but now SP has declared the contest to be interesting by announcing its candidates. Let it be known that by-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh.
SP has released the list of six candidates for the by-election. In this, PDA has been given preference. All parties have intensified preparations for the 10 assembly seats on which by-elections will be held. The reason behind SP not declaring four more seats is said to be its alliance with Congress. But Congress has demanded five seats in the by-elections. It is noteworthy that the Election Commission has not announced the dates of the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. Of the 10 vacant seats, five Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal, Milkipur and Kundarki were with SP. At the same time, Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhwan and Khair were with BJP and Mirapur seat was now with BJP’s ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
