Bharatiya Janata Party is the main opposition party of Delhi. It has eight MLAs in the Assembly, it has a vote base of around 36 percent, it has more than a hundred councilors in the Delhi Municipal Corporation, there is the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and there is a BJP government at the Centre. Still, BJP is not able to play the role of opposition which Swati Maliwal alone is playing. She is a Rajya Sabha MP of Aam Aadmi Party but her relations with Arvind Kejriwal have deteriorated for some time and ever since the relations have deteriorated, she has been giving strength to the name of Kejriwal and his party.
Swati first accused Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar of assault and sent him to jail. He remained in jail for more than three months. Now Swati Maliwal is exposing the functioning of Delhi government every day. On Saturday, she filled dirty water in a bottle and reached Chief Minister Atishi’s house. He shot a video of a person filling a bottle with completely black water coming out of the tap in his house, going to the CM’s residence and spilling it there, which went viral everywhere. Before this, she went to several colonies of Delhi and got a video shot showing piles of filth. Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has raised the issue of dirty water by taking a dip in the polluted Yamuna, but Swati’s spectacle has proved more effective than that. Kejriwal’s people are not responding to him but the policy of ignoring is not going to last for long.
