Srinagar. Terrorists once again launched a major attack on an army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir. Four soldiers have been injured in this attack, while one civilian has died. On the evening of Thursday, October 24, terrorists attacked an army vehicle. After this, firing started from both sides, which continued till late night. The incident took place in Nagin area of Gulmarg in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, where a vehicle of 18 Rashtriya Rifles was attacked by terrorists on Thursday evening near the Line of Actual Control, LOC.
A porter working to help the army was killed in this attack. Porters help the army in delivering goods to hilly areas and forward posts. Four army soldiers are also injured in the attack. Immediately after the firing by the terrorists, the security forces also retaliated and surrounded the area. A massive operation is going on in a large area in search of terrorists.
Earlier on Thursday morning, terrorists had opened fire on another laborer in Batgund of Pulwama district of South Kashmir, in which he was injured. The name of the injured has been stated as Shubham Kumar, who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He is being treated in the hospital. On Thursday morning itself, the body of a non-Kashmiri youth was found in Ganbagh area of Srinagar. According to the police, the deceased was MD Jahud, a resident of West Bengal. Both these incidents seem to be cases of attacks targeting non-Kashmiris.
There have been several attacks on non-Kashmiris in the last one week in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, terrorists had carried out targeted killings in Ganderbal on 20 October and Shopian on 18 October. Seven people died in both these incidents. In this way, people have died in a week, most of whom are non-Kashmiri labourers.
Meanwhile, in view of the continuous terrorist attacks, a high level meeting was held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. In this, the Commander of North Wing, Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, Corps Commander and officers of intelligence agencies participated. It is noteworthy that The Resistance Front or TRF, an organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the attacks that took place on 18 and 20 October. On Wednesday, the picture of the terrorist involved in this attack was revealed. He had a rifle like AK 47 in his hand and he is seen entering a building. It has also been reported that the terrorists who attacked the migrant laborers also had weapons made in America.
