New Delhi. Team India’s head coach and former opener Gautam Gambhir is celebrating his 43rd birthday on Monday. Gautam Gambhir has recently been appointed as the head coach of Team India and under his coaching, India has made a clean sweep of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the T-20 series. Earlier, Gautam was in the role of mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, under whose guidance KKR won the IPL title of 2024. Gambhir had a brilliant career as the opening batsman of Team India. Left-handed batsman Gautam Gambhir scored 4154 runs for India in 104 innings of 58 Tests at an average of 41.96. His highest score was 206. In his Test career, he had scored 9 centuries, 22 half-centuries and one double century. During this period he also hit 517 fours and 10 sixes. In One Day International Career, Gautam scored 5238 runs in 143 innings of 147 matches with an average of 39.68. The highest score was 150. In ODIs, he scored 11 centuries and 34 half-centuries and also hit 561 fours and 17 sixes. Apart from this, he scored 932 runs in 36 innings of 37 matches in T-20 International with an average of 27.41 and strike rate of 119. Gautam’s highest score has been 75, in which he scored 7 half-centuries.

In this format, Gambhir has hit 109 fours and 10 sixes. In IPL, Gautam scored 4218 runs in 152 innings of 154 matches at an average of 31.01. His highest score was 93. In IPL, he hit 491 fours and 59 sixes with 36 half-centuries. Gautam was always known for his aggressive play on the field. Many times he would have heated arguments with opposition players.
