World Tourism Day: Devmali village in Beawar district of Rajasthan has been named as the best tourist village in India. The central government will give the award to this village at a function in Delhi on November 27. The special thing about this village is that no one here consumes meat, fish or alcohol. Apart from this, burning neem wood and use of kerosene is also prohibited here.
Devmali village is home to a famous temple of Lord Devnarayan, which attracts lakhs of devotees every year, as reported by IANS. Nestled in the Aravalli Hills, the village falls under Masuda subdivision and is spread over an area of around 3,000 bighas. It is named after Lord Devnarayan. The rich culture and natural beauty of this village make it a unique tourist destination.

There is not a single concrete house in Devmali village
Devmali village, located near Beawar, does not have a single concrete house, but it has a beautiful temple of Lord Devnarayan situated on the top of the hill. The “Best Tourist Village” competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism included those villages which are developing tourism while maintaining their rich culture. The criteria of maintaining a balanced social and environmental approach, and promoting community values and lifestyle were also included in this competition. Devmali village has been selected as the best tourist village in this category, said Arun Shrivastava, Joint Director General of the Ministry of Tourism. (World Tourism Day)

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also reacted to the news. She said, it is a proud moment for Rajasthan when Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat selected Devmali village as the best tourist village in the country. The Deputy Chief Minister wrote on X, Proud moment for Rajasthan! Devmali village has been selected as the ‘best tourist village’ of Biawar district. This village is famous for its rich culture, traditions and natural beauty. It also has a famous temple of Lord Devnarayan, which is the main attraction. She said that the selection of Devmali as the ‘best tourist village’ will help it get international recognition for its historical, cultural and natural heritage.
