New Delhi. A Vistara flight from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt after a bomb threat. The airline said that the flight has landed safely at Frankfurt Airport. Giving information, the airline said that mandatory security checks were being conducted. Once these checks are completed, the flight will continue its journey to London. “Flight UK 17 from Delhi to London (DEL-LHR) has been diverted to Frankfurt and is expected to reach Frankfurt at 2110 hrs (local time),” the airline said in a post on social media platform X. An airline spokesperson said that Vistara Flight UK17, scheduled to fly from Delhi to London on October 18, 2024, had received a security threat through social media. Following the established protocol, this was informed to the concerned authorities. As a precaution the flight was diverted to Frankfurt.
The spokesperson said as per protocol, all concerned authorities were immediately informed and as a precaution, the pilots decided to divert the flight to Frankfurt. Meanwhile, Akasa Air said its flight QP1366 from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday received a security alert just before takeoff. All passengers were deboarded from the plane following security protocols while local authorities completed necessary procedures. The airline apologized for the inconvenience in a post on Twitter. Recently about 40 flights operated by Indian airlines have faced bomb threats, all of which were later found to be false. In response the Civil Aviation Ministry is considering stricter rules, including placing individuals responsible for fake bomb threats on a no-fly list.
