Navratri 2024: Navratri of Mata Rani comes twice a year, Chaitra Navratri and Sharadiya Navratri. Navratri celebrated in the month of Ashwin is called Sharadiya Navratri. Every year Navratri starts on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This time Sharadiya Navratri is starting from 3 October 2024. Sharadiya Navratri will end on 11 October 2024 on the day of Navami. Vijayadashami or Dussehra is celebrated on the next day of Navami. Goddess Durga is worshiped and worshipped for nine days of Sharadiya Navratri. Worshiping Goddess Durga during these days increases happiness, prosperity, peace and wealth in life.

It is believed that the Kalash Sthapana is the ritual of doing so on the first day of Navratri. This pleases Mata Rani and grants the desired results. According to religious beliefs, the Kalash is said to be the abode of Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh and Matrigan. By doing its installation, the person gets auspicious results. This time on the first day of Navratri, there will be a combination of Indra Yoga as well as Hasta Nakshatra. In such a situation, doing Kalash Sthapana is considered even more auspicious.

According to the Panchang, there are two auspicious times for Kalash Sthapana on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri. The first auspicious time is from 6.19 am to 7.23 am. After this, the second auspicious time for Ghatasthapana of Navratri is in the afternoon. This time will be from 11:46 am to 12:33 pm. You can also do Kalash Sthapana during this time.

How to do Kalash Sthapana in Navratri

1. Before setting up the Kalash, take an earthen pot
2. Then put some soil in a clean plate.
3. Now add barley seeds to it.
4. After this put it in an earthen pot and sprinkle it with water.
5. Now make a Swastika on a copper vessel with Roli and tie a Mauli on its top.
6. Now mix some Gangajal in the pot along with clean water.
7. Then put grass, rice, betel nut and some money on it
8. After this, place mango or Ashoka leaves on top of the Kalash
9. Wrap a coconut with a red chunari and tie a mauli around it
10. Then place this coconut in the middle of the Kalash, and later install it in the middle of the vessel
11. During this time keep chanting the mantras of Mata Rani, this pleases the Goddess
