The specialty of these temples of Rajasthan…
1. Sirohi: Desi Shivshakti statue in Jawal.
Garba festival will continue for 10 days in Jawal of Sirohi. For this, the artists of Gujarat have created the statue of Shiv Shakti with 201 kg of desi ghee in 4 days. 2. Jaisalmer: Tanot Mata Temple
Every soldier of the country is well aware of the grace and miracles of Tanot Mata. Mother’s blessings have been on the devotees for centuries, but in the 1965 war between India and Pakistan, Mother showed her miracles. Pakistanis dropped hundreds of bombs on Mata’s temple but these bombs did not explode. This temple is located on the India-Pakistan border, about 130 kilometers away from Jaisalmer. This miraculous temple of Mata was built about 1200 years ago.
After the war of 1965, the famous temple of Mata became famous in foreign countries also. 450 bombs that fell in the Pakistani temple complex did not explode. These bombs are now kept in a museum built in the temple premises for the devotees to see. After the 1965 war, the responsibility of this temple was given to the Border Security Force. From then till today, only Indian Army soldiers offer prayers in the temple every day.
3. Jaipur: Shila Mata Temple
Amer Fort of Rajasthan is included in the list of world heritage. Shila Mata Temple, considered the patron goddess of Amer, is famous throughout the country. This Shila Devi temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali, is located within the premises of Amer Fort. It is said that Raja Man Singh was a great devotee of Kali Mata. He had brought this idol from Bengal. White marble has been used in the construction of the entire temple. People come from all over the world to see it.
There is also a popular legend about the crooked neck of the statue of Shila Devi installed in Amer. It is said that mother used to talk to Raja Mansingh. Here, male sacrifice was made to the goddess, but once during a conversation with the mother, King Mansingh suggested animal sacrifice instead of human sacrifice. Mother became angry due to this. Out of anger he turned his head away from Mansingh. Since then the neck of this statue is crooked. Panchalokpal is made above the mother’s neck, in which small statues of Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Ganesha and Kartike are made.
4. Sikar: Jeen Mata Temple
There is a temple of Jeen Mata on the mountains in the south of Goriya village of Sikar district. The real name of Jeen Mata is Jayanti Mata. Surrounded by dense forest, the temple is situated at the confluence of three small mountains. The huge marble Shiva Linga and Nandi statue are the main attractions in this temple. There is no concrete information available about this temple. Still, according to mythological beliefs, the temple of Mata is considered to be 1000 years old. Whereas many historians consider the construction period of Jeen Mata temple to be in the eighth century.
According to folk belief, once the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb sent his soldiers to demolish the temple of Jeen Mata and Bhairon located in Sikar, Rajasthan. Jeen Mata showed her miracle and there a swarm of bees attacked the Mughal army. Due to the sting of bees, the entire army left the horses and the field and ran away. It is believed that at that time the condition of the king became very serious. Then the king, admitting his mistake, promised to light the eternal flame to the mother, although no one confirms this.
5. Bikaner: Karni Mata Temple, Deshnoke
Karni Mata temple situated in Deshnok of Bikaner is famous all over the world. More black rats are seen in this temple than devotees. By the way, rats here are called ‘Kaaba’ and milk, laddus and other food items are regularly served to these Kaabas. The temple of Karni Mata is also called ‘Mother of Rats’ or ‘Temple of Rats’. The devotees coming to the temple get only prasad made of rats. The surprising thing is that despite there being so many rats, there is no smell at all in the temple. Also, no disease has spread here till date. No devotee fell ill after eating the rat prasad.
