What lesson will the Election Commission learn?

I don’t know whether the Election Commission is able to see or not what the result of holding elections in any state of North India in the month of Bhado is.

Assembly elections are underway in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. In Haryana, voting will be held simultaneously on October 5 for all 90 seats. Voting will be held on October 5 because many religious, social groups and political parties of the state had requested to extend the date of October 1 for several reasons. If the date had not been extended, voting would have taken place on October 1. The nomination process for the voting to be held on October 5 was completed on September 12 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is September 16. Meanwhile, it is raining heavily in the entire state and in this rain, the candidates of the parties somehow completed the nomination process and are hoping that if the rain stops, they can campaign properly. The BJP leaders themselves were worried about how the Prime Minister’s first rally would take place in Kurukshetra because there was mud all around. With great difficulty, the ground could be prepared for the meeting. There are more than a dozen assembly seats in Faridabad and Gurugram adjacent to Delhi, where people were troubled by rain for the entire last week. People were stuck in traffic jams for four hours and two people died by drowning in waterlogging in Faridabad.

The Election Commission is expected to take into account the weather and festivals before announcing the dates. But the current Election Commission has been ignoring these things in every election. The term of the Haryana Assembly is till November 3. So, instead of holding the elections in the month of Bhado, the Commission could have held it at the end of October. Elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand would also have been held at the same time. But the Election Commission separated them. Due to this, the Haryana elections fell in the rainy season. Not only this, a constitutional crisis arose because of the dates of the elections. After the implementation of the code of conduct, the MLAs had to vote for the Rajya Sabha. Secondly, the assembly had not met after March and the constitutional requirement of holding a meeting in six months came upon the head, so last week the Chief Minister had to call a cabinet meeting and dissolve the assembly. This happened for the first time in the history of Haryana. So, it should be expected that the Election Commission will learn a lesson from this and keep these in mind while announcing future elections.
