In most of the civilized, developed and democratic countries of the world, the one community which was being accepted with the most respect and love, which did not see any other community as a threat to itself, was the Hindu community. But what has happened in the last 10 years? Hatred towards Hindus has increased all over the world. Hate speeches against him have increased and incidents of targeting him have increased. Life for Hindus has also been difficult in America, where the Indian population is said to be about 45 lakh, and where the majority are Hindus. The ongoing caste and religious debate in India has reached there.
Last year, a bill to prevent caste discrimination was introduced in California State. This was a bill purely targeting India. It started with a case against American technology company Cisco and two of its engineers for discriminating against an Indian citizen on the basis of caste. On the basis of this case, a bill was passed to stop caste discrimination. Hindu groups of California also demonstrated against this. Despite this the bill was passed by the state assembly. Later, California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed it and stopped it. However, despite this, it got wide coverage across America, in which Hindu society was the target. There was widespread defamation. Although the demand for Hindus has increased at the business level, but as a society and culture they have been defamed.
Be it the issue of caste, the issue of division on the basis of religion in India or the issue of Khalistan, every time Hindus have been targeted in America. Along with the fundamentalist whites, the Sikhs of their own country and the Muslims of many other countries started seeing them as enemies. The troubles of Hindus are going to increase in the coming days because Hindus will be the victims of many of the policy decisions that Donald Trump is going to take after becoming the President. Trump will change the law granting citizenship, and only the children of green card holders will get citizenship by birth. 10 lakh Indians are going to suffer loss due to this. If Trump is bringing strict laws to stop illegal immigrants, then he will take the help of more than two hundred years old law to expel the illegal immigrants already living there. Under this law, the government can expel any person above 14 years of age from the country on the grounds of illegal migration. Indian Hindus will suffer more due to this also.
Think, what is the achievement of the government that the Hindus of India formed in 2014 in the hope of better days? The largest number of Hindus are fleeing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state Gujarat. They are going to America, Canada. People from Gujarat and Punjab take ships to Latin American countries and from there are trying to enter Canada and America through the Donkey Route. So far this year, one hundred Indian citizens have died and hundreds have been injured in this effort. Every hour, 10 Indians are being caught at the US border trying to enter the US illegally, out of which five are Gujaratis. More than 90 thousand people have been arrested so far this year.
If the campaign to catch and expel illegal immigrants in America gains momentum, Hindus will be the biggest victims after Mexican citizens. Be it America or Canada, Hindus are being beaten, insulted and expelled. Think, where have we reached in 10 years! 10 years ago, the rich, poor and middle class people of the country were not running like this. There was no competition among them to leave the country and take citizenship of another country. But in the last 10 years, more than 12 lakh people have given up Indian citizenship and taken citizenship of another country. The question is, what has happened in the country in the last 10 years, due to which people are trying to leave the country? Either they are leaving in search of a better life or out of concern for their own and their children’s future and their safety?
Trump’s victory is being celebrated in India but the reality is that Trump’s policies are going to hit the Hindus the hardest. Along with the citizenship law, the rules of Trump visa are also going to change, due to which it will be difficult for Indian professionals and students to get visa there. If the number of H-1 visas is limited, there will be a change in the law of H-4 visa. Under this law, the dependent of an H1 visa holder gets freedom to live and work in America. Trump will change this. If their protectionist policies will increase the problems of Hindus, it will also become difficult for Indian companies to operate. It should also not be expected that the committees of the US Congress will stop expressing concern about India in their annual reports on religious and caste discrimination in India.
