The name of the summer vacation in the Supreme Court has now been changed. This change was made just before the retirement of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. Now the summer holidays in the Supreme Court will be called partial ‘Court Working Days’. Think, what will happen from this? In fact, for the last few days, there has been a lot of discussion in the social media about the fact that the number of pending cases in the high courts is increasing and the judges keep celebrating holidays. Be it summer vacations, winter vacations or Dussehra holidays, the Supreme Court and High Courts are criticized a lot on these occasions.
Along with this, it has also been seen in the last few days that honorable judges tell how much work they do. Many times, DY Chandrachud, when he was the Chief Justice, also told that judges have to work even during holidays. They have to write long decisions, which is not possible in the court’s time and also have to read case files. He also told that in America, only 72 cases are heard in the Supreme Court in a year, whereas in India, the Supreme Court hears thousands of cases every year. On the last day of his tenure, he himself heard 45 cases. However, the name of the long summer holidays has been changed to deal with criticism about the holidays.
