Will remain alive till Modi is removed: Kharge

Jammu. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a public meeting in Kathua on the last day of campaigning for the third phase of voting in Jammu and Kashmir. While addressing the public meeting, Kharge’s health deteriorated and he fainted on the stage. However, after the condition became stable, he gave a speech and said that he was not going to die until Narendra Modi was removed from the post of Prime Minister.

Actually, Kharge was paying tribute to the constable who lost his life in Kathua on Sunday, when his health deteriorated. While giving the speech, Kharge’s voice became weak and suddenly he became unconscious. Due to this there was chaos in the meeting. The people standing on the stage supported him and made him sit. After this his speech was stopped. After recovering, Kharge came back on stage and said – I am 83 years old, but I am not going to die so soon. Until Modi is removed, I will remain alive. I will keep listening to you. I will continue to advocate for full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, Mallikarjun Kharge had said in a press conference in Jammu on September 22 that it is the priority of Congress to get statehood back to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that no state had ever been made a Union Territory before. Kharge further said- We want to ask PM Modi and BJP that when you have complete power, why have you not given full state status to Jammu and Kashmir till now. Referring to the Congress manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir, Kharge said that we have made seven promises for the state. Our first promise is that full statehood will be restored to Jammu and Kashmir.
