Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (Yogi Adityanath) The way has been paved for the construction of a rowing sports center in Gorakhpur with an announcement by the Government of India. The Chief Minister has said that the government will provide space in the water sports complex to the Rowing Federation of India (RFI) to build a world class rowing sports center near Ramgarhtal. He also said that efforts will be made to advance the possibilities of water sports in all the big lakes of the state. Addressing the players and the gathering at the closing ceremony of the 25th Sub Junior National Rowing Championship held at Ramgarh Tal on Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that there is immense potential in the field of rowing in Uttar Pradesh. There is a need to hone talents. Our rowing players can win medals by participating in Olympics and other global competitions. To nurture the talent in rowing, the government will provide space in the world class water sports complex near Ramgarh Tal to open a rowing sports center on the request of Rowing Federation of India.
Besides, the state government will also provide all kinds of support to take the center forward. The Chief Minister said that there are many natural lakes in UP, efforts will be made to advance the possibilities of rowing there also. CM Yogi congratulated UP players Laxman Awardee, who won medals in Asian Games and other international rowing events, and Deoria’s youth welfare officer Punit Baliyan, Laxman Awardee Kudrat Ali, Bulandshahr resident Arvind Singh, Sultanpur resident Mohammad Azad, Hapur. Referring to resident Lokesh Kumar and resident Rajesh Kumar of Sant Kabir Nagar, he said that these rowing players have increased the prestige of the state in the country and the world. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that sports has now become a powerful medium for keeping the body and mind healthy and also for making a brilliant career. He said that the state government has made a sports policy and issued a government order to give direct jobs in government services to the players of UP who have won medals in competitions like Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games.

Under this, sports grounds and open gyms, mini stadiums at block level and stadiums at district level are being built in all 57 thousand gram panchayats of the state on war footing.
He said that the state’s first and world class sports university in the name of hockey magician Major Dhyanchand is also being constructed at a rapid pace in Meerut. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that to encourage the players, the state government has decided to give Rs 6 crore to the gold medal winner, Rs 4 crore to the silver medal winner and Rs 2 crore to the bronze medal winner in the Olympic singles event. In the team event of the Olympics, this amount is Rs 3, 2 and 1 crore respectively. Players of the state participating in the Olympics are given an incentive amount of Rs 10 lakh. He told that the gold medal winner of Asian Games is given a prize of Rs 3 crore, the silver medal winner is given Rs 1.5 crore and the bronze medal winner is given Rs 75 lakh. In Commonwealth Games and World Championships, the gold medal winner is given Rs 1.5 crore, the silver medal winner is given Rs 75 lakh and the bronze medal winner is given Rs 50 lakh.
Similarly, in SAFF and National Games also the winners are rewarded with cash. CM Yogi said that the government is appointing old players as coaches and giving them an honorarium of Rs 1.5 lakh per month. The government is providing financial assistance of Rs 20,000 per month to the players of the state who have received Padma awards. Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per month is given to disabled international level players, Rs 6,000 to national level players and Rs 4,000 per month to state level players. He informed that 140 players in the state have been given financial assistance from Eklavya Sports Fund. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, happy with the organization of national level rowing competition for the second time in Ramgarh Tal, said that this is a moment of extra happiness for him. Ramgarh Tal, which was the den of crime in Eastern Uttar Pradesh 10 years ago, has today become a hub of attractions and water sports competitions by the grace of Lord Ram. The Chief Minister said that this is the real change. Ramgarh Tal has become a great destination for tourism as well as sports. Many hotels have opened around it, a floating restaurant has also started in the lake.
