Yogi government is improving the living standards of sanitation workers engaged in Maha Kumbh

Along with making the mega event Maha Kumbh 2025 to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, important steps are also being taken to raise the standard of living of the sanitation workers and sailors playing a key role in this event. Along with linking them with Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, action is being taken to link them with the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana. At the same time, efforts are being made to provide benefits of the state government’s Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Education Promotion Scheme to the daughters of sanitation workers and sailors. A large number of sanitation workers, sailors and their families are getting its benefits. During Kumbh 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the Kumbh Mela area, had given Swachh Seva Samman (Clean Kumbh, Swachh Aadhaar) to the cleaning workers and sailors working in the fair. For this purpose, Swachh Kumbh Fund has been established here. At present, through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the interests of the sanitation workers and sailors working here are being taken care of with an amount of more than Rs 30 crore in this fund. Efforts are being made to connect them with various schemes. In this sequence, till now 7798 have been linked to LIC’s Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme, on which premium of about Rs 2 crore has been paid. Similarly, 12901 persons have been covered under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, on which premium of Rs 30 lakh has been paid.

Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, the process for registered and unregistered workers aged 18-40 years to apply on the e-portal is also being implemented with the help of the Labor Department. Covering action is also being taken in UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (UPBOCW). Apart from this, efforts are also being made to benefit the girls of sanitation workers and sailors under this scheme, and efforts are being made to get approval from the Secondary Education Department to benefit them from the Education Promotion Scheme. . All these efforts being made by the Yogi government are to encourage all the sanitation workers working here to make the Maha Kumbh clean and memorable, so that they can carry out their work with full commitment.
