Yogi government will set up 'hi-tech nurseries' in 73 districts of the state

Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken another great initiative to increase the production of fruits and vegetables. This will not only increase the production of vegetables and fruits, but will also improve their quality. Under this special initiative of the Yogi Government, nurseries will be built in every district except Noida and Ghaziabad. The state government will build high-tech nurseries in the remaining 73 districts except two districts of the state. Full attention will be given to which species of fruits and vegetables are suitable for the agro-climatic zone of the respective district. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of the district, the universities to which these KVKs are affiliated and the Horticulture Department will decide this together. According to the information, nurseries will be built with the help of MNREGA. So far 36 such nurseries have been prepared. Work will start on 16 more nurseries soon. In these high-tech nurseries, the plant is prepared in controlled temperature and humidity, so the plants are healthy.

In such a situation, the yield of vegetables and fruits available from their plantation is not only more, they are also better in quality and their prices are also reasonable. Getting the right price for the produce will increase the income of farmers and gardeners. The ultimate goal of all the schemes of the government running in the interest of farmers and gardeners is also this. Actually, the economy of Uttar Pradesh is mainly based on agriculture. Fruits and vegetables have an important place in the agriculture-based economy. It has been proved scientifically that fruits and vegetables provide more employment opportunities at the local level per hectare. If processing is added, this number increases further. Vitamins and fiber are found in them in abundance, so they also contribute significantly to nutritional security. These hi-tech nurseries will play an important role in all this. Due to having nine types of agro-climatic zones, there is a possibility of cultivation of all types of fruits and vegetables in Uttar Pradesh.

About 77 percent of the total land of the state is cultivable. About 85 percent of the cultivable land is irrigated. With the largest population, labour force and market are also available. Because of all this, there is a lot of potential for cultivation of fruits and vegetables here. The Yogi Adityanath government also has a lot of emphasis on the export of agricultural products. The network of expressways, international airports of Jewar, Ayodhya and Kushinagar and the country’s only waterway from Prayagraj to Varanasi, Haldia in West Bengal further increase these possibilities. In future, the Yogi government plans to extend this waterway to Ayodhya. The way the government is preparing to build cargo hubs in 13 districts including Dadri, Gorakhpur, the possibility of their export will increase further.
