Kill thousands of people
About 5,900 men and boys died in the massacre of Bosnian Serb forces in Shrevarta, thousands of people were displaced and the entire population was destroyed, and the region was declared a “safe zone” by the United Nations Protection Council.
A small and few armed group of Dutch peace troops deployed under the United Nations could not stop the Bosnian Serb Army, then the city was imprisoned by the Serb Army.
The genocide has been recognized as genocide by both the International Court (ICJ) and the former International Crimes Tribunal (ICTY).

UN general secretary Antonio Gutresh, the principal secretary of the UN, paid tribute to the victims of the massacre and praised their families.

Mirala Usmanovic was born after the genocide of Shrebreta Smriti Center, but this genocide deeply influenced his life.
Mirala’s two brothers were killed in the massacre, some parts of him were found, but many parts of the body were not known today. His family feels this imperfection every day.
He said, “My parents have deprived themselves of any happiness, as if every smile will be cheated by his sons.”
The world promised that genocide would not happen again like Shrebrata, but after 5 years, his family thinks that the slogan never remained.
A new generation, including new questions
Mirala speaks to youth around the world, who asks, “What happens after the violence stopped? When the news disappears, the graves are found and the truth is revealed, what comes justice?”
Their answer is that justice does not come up often.
