Gilbert F -Hongbo met with Labor Minister of India Mansukh Mandavia during his visit and emphasized the importance of social dialogue and consultation between the government, the employer and the labor organization during his speech on social justice in New Delhi.

The Director General of ILO praised the increase in social security coverage in India. According to the latest World Protection Report of the ILO 2021-26, about half of the country’s population, ie 1.5%, is now taking advantage of a type of coverage, which shows the increase in the previous number of 20.5%.
Highlighting his living wage initiative, the ILO chief has said that millions of salaries worldwide are still living in poverty due to inadequate salary.

The ILO chief visited the Global Capacity Center in Gurugram and said that emerging technology and digital trends are shaping the employment market and the young working population of India can accept it in large quantities.
