The International Civil Aviation Organization Council (ICAO) ended on Monday with an election, according to which Russia failed to fulfill its duties under the International Aviation Act.
Under this Act, it is the responsibility of the member states who do not use weapons to fly civil aircraft.
The case was presented in the Netherlands and Australia in the ICAO.
The airline has said that this is the first time in the history of ICAO when the Council has decided on one of the member states under its dispute settlement.
Passengers of 17 countries
Malaysia Airlines aircraft, flight number MH 17, from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was destroyed due to missile targets in the eastern skyline of Ukraine.
The incident took place when an armed fight between the Russian -back rebellion and Ukrainian military in the region was underway.
All 283 passengers and 15 crew members died on this plane.
Among the dead were 196 Dutch citizens, 3 Malaysian and 4 Australian citizens or residents were citizens of the country.
The ICAO is the UN agency for the development and implementation of global aviation strategies and technical standards.
A few weeks after the accident, ICO also set up a special task force to review the risks of citizen aircraft from the ICO war -recognized zones.
Nerlands established a joint investigation team (JIT) on August 25 with Australia, Malaysia, Belgium and Ukraine.
According to the conclusion of the JIT investigation, the MH7 flight was targeted with a missile from a book lock system, which was brought to a farm from Russia to Eastern Ukraine. The area was under control of the separatists at that time.
In November 2022, a Dutch court convicted three Russian and a Ukrainian citizen in the case.
In his absence, the case was played and sentenced to life imprisonment. Another Russian accused was released.
Aircraft contract breach
In the same year, the Netherlands and Australia presented the issue to ICAO.
The main allegation of the case was that Russia’s role in the eastern region of Ukraine, the role of Russia, a violation of the international citizen aircraft agreement.
Since Russia launched an attack on Ukraine at the entire level in 2022, the war has become even more terrifying.
According to the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR), more than 3,000 ordinary people were killed and more than 3,000 were injured.
