A report published by the United Nations Drugs and Anti -Office of Crime (UNODC) on Friday said that both Ukraine’s legitimate and illegal economy had been severely damaged by the war since February 2022.
The report analyzes the modified forms of crime organized by focusing on the six major fields.
For example, crimes that help drug trafficking and production, online fraud, smuggling, economic crime, human trafficking and illegally escape from the country or helps to avoid military appointment.
The research and analysis of the UNODC’s Major Angela ME says, “War has done a lot of harm to the people of Ukraine, as well as a lot of organized crime – which can make the country’s restructuring and improvement difficult.”
Drug
Although cocaine and heroin smuggling through Ukraine since 2022 have greatly reduced the production and trafficking of synthetic drugs such as Cathinone and Methodon has increased rapidly.
In recent years, the smuggling of Cathinone has been particularly promoted from Darknet, where online market forums like Hydra have played an important role.
Keep in mind that Hydra was closed on April 2022.
In the report, in the context of methodone, most of Ukraine products are distributed through smuggling in the country, as its domestic demand is constantly increasing.
Arms
Due to the large amount of weapons from the field of war, the war has also increased the availability of weapons in Ukraine.
Due to the availability of weapons in excess weapons, the incidence of weapons and violence in life has increased, especially in anxiety in domestic and intimate violence.
Although there was no direct evidence of weapons trafficking outside Ukraine, UNODC emphasized that the historical monitoring of the historical network of the country’s trafficking in the region, the uninterrupted observation of the situation, is very important.
According to the report, evidence of non-equivalent use of drones has not yet been found, but citizens may be made for illegal markets, 3D-printed parts for drones and war fronts.
Human trafficking
Due to the war, many of the people who are displaced, the criminal party has been targeted by the criminal party, who are forcibly pressing on their shelter or housing under humanitarian assistance.
Although strict observation at Ukraine borders and almost completely closure of the eastern and north -east borders, the smugglers have control over smuggling, smugglers have now given new appearance in their illegal trade, helping Ukrainian men to avoid military recruitment.
“This is compulsory for effective control, sustainable peace, justice, national protection and human rights,” Ukraine’s UN ambassador coordinator Matthias Sahlamle said.
He said that the United Nations is ready to give Ukraine every possible support in this important work.
