Gaza: In the wake of the disappointment, the tragedy of the journalist to find hope

21 months have passed since the attack on Israel on 7 October. From the beginning of the war, more than 60,000 people have died and a large part of Gaza has been destroyed.

However, according to the UN correspondent present on the ground, “those living in Gaza do not need long things to explain the meaning of this war.”

The UN correspondent does not want to say his identity because of security. According to him, the only alternative is to move forward in some way.

He says:

For a few minutes, it is enough for the ears to hear the ears, the echoing of the flying fighter aircraft in the upper sky and then the bombs that make everything calm … the fear that is not visible is filled with every blank place in our goals and falls into our body.

A child’s life was saved by attacking a shelter in a school.

There is dense darkness around the night, giving the bomb the brightness light.

We sleep on whether you will be able to get alive in the morning.

In Gaza, every morning there is a new attempt to survive and there is a test to survive every evening. This is our cruel truth.

I am one of the 20 million Palestinians who are forcibly facing the burden of displacement. I record stories of war and frustration and at the same time I feel their full bitterness.

Our turpoline has become our protection since November 2021 was destroyed. My family, which was once part of my personal world, now turned into a part of those stories … which I reached the world.

Life here is very straightforward, but very good. Gold on the ground, burning wood on the ground, cooking food and exhausting for every piece of bread… now they are not only alternatives, but also part of the forced life.

I see the shadow of the war against my older son, which is not yet 14 years old, the war has taken away his childhood and puts a more burden on him than his age.

He is now knowledgeable about the way to bring water, discussed for bread and raised heavy gallons of water. I am very proud of his courage, but at the same time feel deep helplessness, because I am not able to prevent him from the destruction of spread around us.

A desert of hope

My wife is trying to create a small desert for hope for our kids. My two older daughters are still studying online. Whenever the internet runs, whatever books are available, they try to read them.

My younger daughter makes a picture in a piece of dilapidated, while my youngest son, who is still four years old, thinks nothing but the sound of a bomb exploded.

We stand completely helpless in front of his innocent questions. There is no school or study … there is only one attempt in this ruthless reality, in any way to save the innocent light of childhood to save them in …

In Gaza, more than 6 lakh children have been deprived of education. The reason for this is the destruction of schools and the safe educational environment completely destroyed. The future of the entire generation is in danger.

See everything with your own eyes

I work with other journalists. We roam between hospitals, roads and relief camps.

We raise our journalism equipment, not just to record the events, but to become the voice of those who have been muted by this war.

We enter a baby who is suffering from badly malnourished, listen to the story of the fact that everything is lost and the tears of the woman who are not able to give their kids food.

We enter a scene every day that is repeated every day: thousands of people ran to reach the flour truck. They run after the truck and even fall on the ground to cover the last particles of flour.

They don’t worry about danger, because the hope of reaching a piece of bread has become more valuable than life.

We are walking on the street, alert in every voice, as we wait for death for each twist.

Now there is no time for any surprise or sadness … there is only constant stress and instability, which has now become part of the body and soul of the survivors here.

It’s the same fact that the cameras are unable to show, but every day we try to explain to the world.

Pain in UN peers

We record relief efforts from the United Nations and its various organizations.

I can see that employees sleep on their vehicles so I can stay near the border and I hear the story of my Gaza residents and see our UN colleagues crying too.

Assistance is insufficient. The borders are suddenly open and closed, and for several days no help reaches many regions.

The crowd is very high in the western part of Gaza. In each twist, there are turpolins everywhere in the pavement and bombs houses and the situation is very scary.

Millions of people are facing starvation between Israeli bombings and firing in Gaza.

Listening market

Local currency prices are completely over. Those who have some money left in the bank account are paying a 50 percent fee to withdraw it. However, the markets are still almost empty. Whatever is not available, they are being sold at a very high price.

Vegetables are just available and when available, one kilo of vegetables cost more than $ 30. Fruits and meat are now only remembered.

Gaza health system is completely broken, where 85 percent of hospitals are no longer working and services like dialysis and chemotherapy are almost closed.

Long -term disease is not available. I am not able to collect drugs for my parents, who have diabetes and high blood pressure. And, the surgery that my brother’s wounded hand is needed … no hope. He was injured in an airstrike.

All things

Sometimes I feel that I am two identities, a journalist who is recording this pain and a person who is facing it by myself I am trapped.

Perhaps, this is the real power of our journalism, in the middle of the Gaza strip, trying to tell the world the truth … from the heart of that tragedy, which is happening here every day.

Every day comes a new question in Gaza:

Shall we live?

Will our kids find water and return properly?

Will this war ever end?

The boundaries will open so that assistance can reach?

This is where we continue to move, because the stories that do not go anywhere, they die.

And in Gaza, every child, every woman, is entitled to listen to every male voice.

I am a journalist.

I’m a father

I am homeless

And I’m a witness to everything.
