Muhammad Hadi, who also serves as the Special Deputy Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, issued the appeal during his recent visit to Gaza City.
During this visit, the UN senior official met with representatives of non-governmental organizations.
Additionally, he visited the Holy Family Church and recorded a video message on the steps outside the church. At that time displaced children were also present there with them.
Muhannad Hadi stressed that, “It reiterates that churches, mosques, civilians and all basic structures must be protected.”
“They can be saved only by ending this war, by an armistice.”
According to him, the displaced youth of Gaza deserve to return to their homes. The UN coordinator said the children here have hope for the future and without education and proper health care they will not have a bright future.
“I appeal, again, to this church in Gaza for an end to the war, for the sake of these children, for the sake of the future and for a better future for all of us in the region. “
