Gaza: WEFP Food Stage Finish, New Challenges for ASSIFFECIAL Effort

The UN agency said on Friday that the final supply of food was distributed to hot food -manufacturing cooks, where it is likely to end within a few days.

WFP warned that if the steps were not taken immediately, the needy families in Gaza could be forced to stop extremely important assistance.

“The situation in the Gaza band once reached the doorstep of cracking: People are ending the way to deal with this situation and the progress that was recorded during the short -term ceasefire was wired.”

Gaza Strip’s cooks were the only permanent source of food assistance for the past several weeks. Through this, only half the population is being provided and it meets one-fourth of their daily needs.

WFP 25 bakery was providing assistance, but they closed all on March 31 due to flour and cooking fuel. In the same week, food packets delivered to families were also finished.

The supply is stagnant for about two months

Humanitarian assistance has not been provided for almost seven weeks due to all boundary posts for admission to Gaza.

Other senior officials, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutresh, have repeatedly called for relief routes.

The WFP says it is the longest rest restriction in Gaza, which has already increased the burden on the face -to -face market and food system.

Apply to open a support corridor

In Gaza, this ceasefire, which was implemented earlier this year, has now recorded 5 percent jump in food price compared to the situation. Eating and drinking items are available in very small quantities which are extremely concerned.

The risk of becoming malnourished by young children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, elders and other weak people have deepened.

It has been reported that more than one million metric tons of food assistance is ready to enter Gaza Bandage, so that more than 10 million people can be supplied for four months. With the opening of the border, the WFP will try to bring the supply with its partner companies there.

The UN agency has appealed to all warning parties that the requirements of ordinary citizens should be prioritized and the obligations prescribed under the International Humanist Act should be fulfilled.
