It is reported that under this decision, about 50 percent senior posts will be canceled in the Geneva headquarters and regional offices.
5,3 permanent staff posts are being canceled, several hundred temporary employees’ services have been canceled, and some office size has been short or completely closed.
According to the UNHCR, the priorities for the expenditure cuts related to the expenditure cuts were fixed and the need for refugees would continue to work in the area that would continue.
Financial reality
The announcement came after a warning published by the UN agency in March, which said that the lives of millions of refugees were in danger of serious money and frustration and could have immediate and destructive consequences.
UNHCR estimates that the same amount will be found later this year, which was about a decade ago, when the number of forced refugees in this period has doubled more than 12.2 million.
“UNHCR has been forced to reduce its campaign opportunities in terms of difficult financial reality,” said UN Refugee High Commissioner Philipo Grandy.
“We will focus on our efforts on activities that have the most impact on the refugees and will be done by reorganizing the headquarters and regional structure.”
Promise to ‘integral’
Despite giving priority to the needs of refugees, many important programs such as financial support, healthcare, education, water and sanitation facilities have been affected in a large size.
UNHCR is involved in coordination efforts with other UN partners, assistance groups and host countries to reduce the impact on dependent people.
For this, the company is trying to bring skills in its activities, looking for new models and new technology.
“Even though we have to fight hard cuttings and lose many devoted colleagues, our commitment to the refugees is steadfast,” said Philipo Grandy.
He said, “Although resources are limited and our service’s ability to provide, we will continue to respond to emergency situations, protect the rights of refugees and find a solution for them.”
