In the 47th session of the World IT Tahai Committee held in Paris, this historical Tihasik and natural resources of India have been identified.
This listed assets include twelve major forts, most of which are located in the fort, located in Maharashtra, while a fort is in Tamil Nadu.
Among these castles like Raigad, Shivani and Sindurg, the Marathas were built or expanded to their needs from the latter half of the 17th century to the beginning of the nineteenth century.
These castles were strategically located in the beaches and the hills, part of a complex defense system. Their special texture – high walls, secret routes and safe reservoirs, unique strategies to prove their enemies and the living proof of war skills.
These castles were helpful in strengthening the military power, trade protection and regional control of the Maratha Empire. These castles played an important role in establishing a major political and military force of the Marathas.

In Raigad and Shivnari, thousands of people still gather in Raigad and Shivheri in the form of festivals, annual events and local assembly – and remember the Maratha leadership, perseverance and innovation.
In 2024, the Moidam of Charidov in Assam was also included in the World Heritage List.
