On Thursday, on the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, in a message, the UN’s main “electricity speed” expressed concern over the erosion of the natural world.
The UN general secretary said, “Bio -diversity is the basis of biodiversity, life and sustainable development.”
“Humanity is still destroying biodiversity at the speed of thunderstorms. It is the result of pollution, climate crisis, destruction of ecosystems, and endless use of our natural world for short -interest.”
He emphasized that any country, “no matter how rich or strong,” the alone cannot face the crisis. Or it cannot be rich without ecology prosperity that defines life on earth.
Bell
This International Biodiversity Day has come at a time when future concerns are at the peak: 10 million species are at risk of extinction due to human activity, 75 percent of the land ecosystem and two-thirds of the sea environment have changed.
If the current trends continue, the progress of eight of the 17 goals of sustainable development (SDG) may be in danger.
The general secretary has called for the implementation of the Kunming-Mantial Global Biodiversity Structure immediately to prevent and retro in nature by 20.
These include the completion of national biodiversity action plan, increasing money for protection, changing harmful subsidies and supporting local communities, tribes, women and youth.
Harmony
Biodiversity helps to maintain food protection, livelihood, health and climate tolerance.
About three billion people eat fish, which is 20 percent of their animal protein. At the same time, 5 percent of the rural population in developing countries depends on drugs based on plants.
Natural habitat destruction, zonotic diseases are also increasing the risk of infection. Thus, biodiversity conservation also becomes very important for global health protection.
The UN chief said this year’s main theme, “Living in harmony with nature and sustainable development for humanity is a way to build a better world.”
“Come on, let’s go together on this way.”
International Day
In 2000, the United Nations officially declared International Biodiversity Day as International Biodiversity Day to increase the understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.
In 1992, on this date, the convention of biodiversity was adopted.
