The UN Chief Antonio Gutresh mentioned the preparations for preparing for epidemic, epidemic, sea security and development money while addressing a cabinet meeting at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday.
He said, “Change is not just necessary, it is completely possible.”
Note that HLPF is the 2030 Development Agenda and its 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) to review the UN Central Forum.
The UN chief consulted with the epidemic agreement at the World Health General Assembly in Geneva that the proposal to protect the sea zones at the NIS Third Ocean Conference and new thoughts in the Global Finance of Sevier as a recent major success.
He said, “These are not successful success, these hints are still effective.”
Expectations still exist …
General Secretary Gutresh warned that the world was still far from achieving the target of 20. According to him, “Only 5 percent of the target is moving in the right direction. About half the target is increasing very slowly and 5 percent is moving back.”
He applied for the countries to take immediate and adventure. “SDG is not a dream. It’s a sight plan … plan to fulfill the promises coming from the coming generation for each other” “”
The general secretary also mentioned some important progress after 20, such as the expansion of social protection, lack of child marriage and increasing women’s participation.
He said that if political desires and resources are given the right direction, SDGs can still be achieved.
The general secretary also said that development and peace are connected to each other. However, violence in places like Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, Ukraine shows that sustainable peace cannot come without sustainable development.
He said, “At every step we know that sustainable development is necessary for sustainable peace.”
The UN chief immediately applied for a new promise to ceasefire and diplomacy.
Is not ideal, SDG is responsible
Bob Ray, president of the Economic and Social Council (ISSOCK), also supported the general secretary, “SDGs are not alternative ideals, but important promises. This is not the time to leave our ideals … but now is the time when we should perform our multi -diplomacy towards each other.”
Bob Roy warned that the decreased budget and growing nationalist politics was weakening the development, but it also re -mentioned that “multilateral cooperation brings real and viewing benefits to every level of society.”
He said that SDGs should be included in policies and budget all over the world so that they can become the primary basis for public service. For this, deep partnerships with civil society, local government and private sectors are necessary.
Is important to change the ground
Philome Young, president of the United Nations General Assembly, says political resolutions should be converted to ground.
He appreciated the efforts of the 2024 ‘Comapojo de Sevilla’ and ‘Treaty for the Future’.
Their goal is to improve the global financial system, increase climate funds and strengthen international tax cooperation.
He said, “The distance between ambitions and results can only be full of unity, resources and political will.”
Chairman Phillome Young warned, “The deadline of 20 is coming quickly … whether we like it or not.
Accountability and partnership is important
The high -level political platform (HLPF) was established in 2012 after the Rio +20 conference. It is the main UN platform observed on the progress of the SDG.
So far more than 150 countries have presented a voluntary national review (VNR). This year 36 countries are presenting their new reports.
These reports show what they did to meet the 2030 agenda (which development aims) and what they faced with.
The general secretary appealed to the ministers that now only five years left to complete the SDGs, “Now is the time to convert these small changes to a huge change … for all countries.”
