Services at the only major hospital in northern Gaza were cut off after an Israeli military operation

According to the information received so far, the Israeli military attacked here, which caused a part of the hospital to be burnt and severely damaged. Hospital labs, surgical units and medical stores were damaged.

The UN Health Organization team has lost contact with Kamal Adwan Hospital Director Dr. Abu Safia and it is feared that he may be detained.

It is reported that large numbers of people were forced to strip off their clothes and move towards southern Gaza during the Israeli military operation.

Meanwhile, critically ill patients are also forced into hospitals in Indonesia, which lack essential equipment and health supplies and cannot provide adequate care.

According to the WHO, forcing patients to go elsewhere and interrupting treatment in these situations threatens their lives.

In view of this, the United Nations Health Organization is planning to send a mission to an Indonesian hospital on Sunday, to transport patients to southern Gaza for their healthcare.

Obstacles to health missions

The World Health Organization says such actions by the military are systematically undermining the health system.

For the past two months, health workers and hospitals have been under attack on an almost daily basis. This week, a bomb attack in an area near a hospital killed 50 people, including five health workers at Kamal Advan Hospital.

At the same time, requests to deploy international emergency medical teams have been repeatedly rejected, despite the overwhelming need for health services and supplies.

The WHO had requested 21 missions to Kamal Advan Hospital, but received permission for only 10 of them in October-December.

Despite these restrictions, 45,000 liters of fuel, medical supplies, blood, food and other aid materials have been provided through the UN mission. 114 patients and 123 of their relatives were sent to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
