Since March this year, violent conflict in South Sudan’s ‘High Blue’ province has been burning, forced thousands of families to leave their homes and many communities are facing famine.

This first UN agency has provided food packets to 40,000 people who suffer from catastrophic hunger in the last four months. It has been said that this region can only be reached by air.
In South Sudan, WFP Country Director Mary-Alaen McGregist said that the relationship between the violent conflict and hunger of South Sudan was turning into a tragic way. It has been seen in the high blue province in the past few months.
He said that if the level of assistance in the affected area is not extended, the famine’s leg is at risk of fully spreading. To prevent it, food should be provided to these families and so all efforts are being made to relieve the needy.
Apply to increase the level of assistance
According to one estimate, more than a million people are not getting the whole food in the upper province, of which about 32,000 people are fighting hunger at the destructive level.
After a violent conflict in March, the number of affected persons has increased three times, led by the mass displacement.
