Sudan: Jamjam is 'almost impossible' to help the needy in displaced camps

Cucumber Coordinator and Humanities Coordinator Clementen Nuetta-Salami expressed deep concern over the house and livelihood news in North Darfur.

“Ordinary citizens are paying the price. It is almost impossible to reach the Jamjam camp, at a time when people need the most support. We need a humanitarian way to provide life -saving assistance. “

Since April 2021, there is a violent conflict between Sudan’s armed forces and paramilitary forces (RSF), which has created a large -scale humanitarian crisis in the country. The Jamjam camp built for the displaced is located about 15 km from the city of Al -Fashar, the capital of northern Darfur province.

Last week, the UN Food Program (WFP) said that children were already dying in this camp and thousands of people could be hungry in the weeks. Heavy bombing has been forced to stop humanitarian assistance here.

Enemies became partners

On 15 April 2023 there was a barrier to the restoration of citizen governance in Sudan and violent conflict between the Armed Forces and the Armed Forces (RSF) would begin, while the first two parties had mutual cooperation.

The Sudanese army has control over the northern and eastern regions, and the RSF militia and its allies occupied the Darphur province and parts of the south in the western region.

The RSF has now almost completely controlled in the Darfur region and has blocked the city of Al -Fashar in northern Darfur, near the Jamjam camp for the past several months.

The RSF Militia attacked the camp on February 7, after which there were reports of clashes with the army for several days.

On Tuesday evening, ordinary citizens were again attacked at Abu Shobha camp in North Darfur, where Muslims were mainly likely to die. The RSF has been told behind the attack. Earlier on Sunday, at least six people were killed in the camp.

2.2 million dollars emergency assistance

In Sudan’s 2 27 places, the situation is like more than 2 million famine.

UN Emergency Assistant Coordinator Tom Flatcher on Thursday announced $ 2.2 million to assist the most disadvantaged, through which life -efficient human assistance would be taken forward.

Meanwhile, the Protection Council has expressed concern over the signature of the Sudan by the Sudan’s military forces over the plan to establish a parallel administrative equipment.

According to the Protection Council, Sudan’s existing violent conflict with any such action will intensify, partitions in the country will increase and may already take serious conditions.

Rape of kids

This week, UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) expressed anger that armed fighters in Sudan’s violent conflict were sexually violent, including rape of children. Some of the victims also have one year old.

According to Sudan’s gender-based violence monitoring agency, more than 225 children’s rape cases have been registered since 2021, which reflects the level of the current situation.

UNICEF’s executive director Catherine Rusile said that even young children were hunting for one year old, which could push someone. To prevent instant resistance, immediate action must be taken.
