Welcome to the Peace Agreement between DRC and Rwanda

The UN chief describes the agreement as a “an important step” towards reducing the tension in the eastern region of the DRC and the Great Lex, towards establishing peace and bringing stability.

A big progress in the middle of the crisis

From the sixties, the eastern region of the DRC has been subjected to violence in armed groups, where many armed groups are spreading fear and terror among the common people.

The Congo Democratic Republic’s government has long been accused of supporting Rwanda, Rwanda, Rwanda.

In early 2021, the M33 rebel group launched a major attack on the northern and southern Kivu provinces of the DRC, capturing several cities and villages, including provincial capital, Goma and Bukavu.

Thousands of ordinary people died in this violence, millions of people became homeless and the events of greater human rights violations were recorded.

UN Promise

General Secretary Antonio Gutresh praised the US leadership role in furthering the process of the arbitration.

Mediation has been integrated with the mediatory of Qatar and the African Association, the president of Togo, Four Ganasingabe.

All the major parties in the United Nations have requested the peace agreement and the UN Protection Council Motion 2773 (2025) to fully follow his promises, including ceasefire and all other agreed measures.

In this resolution, the DRC and Rwanda were requested to return to diplomatic discussions in February 2021, unanimously passed to the Protection Council.

The general secretary said that through the United Nations, its peace establishment mission, Manusco, “is fully committed to supporting the implementation of the agreement by coordinating the African Association, the regional and international partners.”

Incidentally, the Protection Council held a meeting to discuss the situation of the DRC on Friday, which included Special Representative of the General Secretary and Chief Manusko, Binatou Kateata.
