Mumbai Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on Saturday apologized for his statement on Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC. However, despite this, Shaina is angry and said that the decision on Sawant will be taken by the women of Mumba Devi. Shaina also targeted Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, leaders of Uddhav Thackeray’s ally Congress, over Sawant’s statement and asked why both are silent on the insult of a woman.
Earlier, Arvind Sawant said on Saturday – Such an atmosphere is being created that I have insulted a woman, I have never done this in my life. I am saddened that my statement is being deliberately targeted by giving it a different meaning. But still, if my statement has hurt anyone’s sentiments, I apologize. The respect of women in the country cannot be seen on the basis of party.
In fact, Sawant on Friday had called Shaina NC ‘imported goods’. What he meant to say was that Shine was till now in BJP but has been imported to contest elections and has joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Shaina had lodged an FIR against this at Nagpada Police Station in Mumbai and demanded action. The women’s wing of Shiv Sena Shinde faction had also demonstrated against Sawant. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that if Bala Saheb had been alive, he would have broken Sawant’s face. It is condemnable to speak so badly about a woman.
On the other hand, when Sawant apologized, Shaina NC said – Who am I to forgive or not? The women of Mumba Devi will have to forgive and decide whether they can trust ‘Mahavinash Aghadi’ after such a statement. She said- I want to ask Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray about the statement of Sanjay Raut, who said that he (Arvind Sawant) does not need to apologize. I want to tell Sanjay Raut that if you have no objection to the word ‘maal’, then it shows your mentality.
