India expressed displeasure with Canada

New Delhi. India has taken the statement of Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison seriously and expressed displeasure with Canada. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed its displeasure by summoning an official of the Canadian High Commission. In fact, Morrison had said that the order for action against Khalistani separatists in Canada was given by India’s Home Minister Amit Shah. Not only this, the Canadian minister had also leaked this news to the American newspaper ‘Washington Post’. India is angry with his statement.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Saturday that an official of the Canadian High Commission was summoned on November 1. During this it was said that the allegations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah are baseless and absurd. He said that Canadian officials are deliberately making allegations as part of a strategy to defame India and then leak it to the international media. This will have a serious impact on the relations between the two countries.

It is noteworthy that, Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison had claimed in a parliamentary committee on October 29 that Amit Shah had ordered to target Khalistani separatists in Canada. However, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said – Some of our consular officers were recently informed by the Canadian government that they are under audio and video surveillance. Their communication has also been disrupted. We have also formally opposed this. We consider such actions to be a violation of diplomatic and commercial conventions.

He said- The Canadian government cannot justify this by citing technical issues. Our diplomats are already working in an environment of extremism and violence. Regarding the cancellation of Diwali programs in Canada, Jaiswal said- We have heard some news related to this. It is very sad that the atmosphere there has reached this level. It is noteworthy that there were reports of cancellation of Diwali celebrations in Parliament Hill, the Parliament of Canada. Reports had claimed that the Diwali celebrations were canceled amid the ongoing diplomatic standoff with India.

However, Canadian Deputy Minister Morrison had also admitted before the parliamentary committee on October 29 that it was he who had told the name of Amit Shah to the American newspaper ‘Washington Post’ and given information related to the meeting between India and Canada. However, Morrison was unable to tell the committee how he came to know that Amit Shah had ordered to target Khalistanis, while Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had earlier said that he had no reason to believe that India was involved in the matter. There is no concrete evidence. He had said this only on the basis of intelligence information.
